November Challenge of the Month – Affirmations Baby!

You are what you think.

Anyone who knows me well, knows I’m an affirmation ninja.

I change them up all the time, but the one I’m loving right now is “Right here, right now, I’m exactly where I need to be.”

If I’m having a hard time falling asleep or I’m stressed out, this little phrase calms be right down.

I’ve been using daily affirmations for a long time.

In my early twenties, I was working on Broadway in a musical that scared the crap out of me.  It was an extremely difficult role and I was terrified of it. Every night, right before curtain, I would have an a little panic attack.

You Are Enough

Affirmation: emotional support or encouragement.

Last week I went to an inspiring workshop given a really cool dude. I loved it because of what he said about the power of thoughts and intentions.

He talked about how people get in their own way by simply listening to negative thoughts, and how opportunities are lost because of self doubt. How true that is! 

I’ve been practicing affirmations for many years, but he gave me a refresher course on why they are so very important.

Pour Some Sugar on Me

C’mon Def Leopard, go ahead and pour!  Well, maybe not pour, but how about drizzle?

I’ve been learning a lot about excessive sugar and it’s gnarly effects.  But does this mean live a sugar-less life?

Hell no!  What’s the point of living if I can’t have sugar?!

I’m being dramatic…ok, but seriously, there has to be a way to walk the sugar walk without harming our bodies or gaining weight.

I went on a mission to find a healthy way to incorporate sugar into my diet and share it with you!

October Challenge of the Month – Moderation

I don’t know about you, but moderation ain’t easy. What can I say?

I’m an extremist and FOOD has always been my vice! I mean, I can’t just have a handful of chips, I gotta eat the whole damn bag.

Ever since I was a kid, I ate until my stomach ached and I felt sick. I LOVED food, especially sugar. I would fix myself a ginormous bowl of ice-cream after dinner and stuff my happy little face until I had to unbutton my pants. Ah, the good ole days.

I went LARPing this past weekend with Jill and Kelly.

We drove four hours away to play with a group of LARPers.

Was it worth the drive? Hell yes!  This story is a good one.
